We want the children to control their impulsivity by taking time to stop and think before choosing.

Introduction:        Review the unit and introduce today's principle.

Introduce principle.

Activity:                 Sing Old McDonald, Put Your Finger In The Air, or any other song that involves the children choosing parts of the song.  Before each student takes their turn to choose a part of the song, remind them to stop and think of the animals (or body parts or....) that have already been chosen and to choose something that has not yet been chosen.

Have children select unique parts of songs to sing.

Summary:             The emphasis today is on reflective thinking.  Encourage students to stop and think before choosing.
