Making Choices

Day 1

Daily Principle:

      Level 1.      There are lots of different things we can do.

      Level 2.      We make choices.

      Level 3.      We make many different choices.

Rationale:

Knowing there are choices helps us feel good and helps us get what we want, or need.  We can learn the word "choices" and become more cognizant of what we are doing.

Key Points

Title:                      Song.

Materials:             None necessary.

Introduction:        Review Memory Unit principles and introduce the new unit.

Review Memory unit and introduce Choices unit.

Activity:                 Sing Put Your Finger In The Air.  Allow students to choose, for each verse, where to put their finger.  Or, sing Old McDonald and allow students to choose the animals to sing about.

Sing a song which requires children to make choices.

Summary:             Emphasize that they are making choices.

Summarize activity and provide rationale.
