Day 5

Daily Principle:

      Level 1.      We choose how to move our bodies.

      Level 2.      We act different ways.

      Level 3.      We choose how to act.

Rationale:

Children can be in control of their behavior.  By choosing how to act, children also help to decide how others will respond to them.

Daily Activities

Title:                      Story .

Materials:             Dr. Seuss , Green Eggs and Ham

Introduction:        Review the unit and introduce the Daily Principle.

Introduce principle.

Activity:                 Read Green Eggs and Ham and after each scenario ask or state that Sam and the other character choose how to act; choose not to eat the green eggs and ham and Sam chooses to pester the other character until he tries the green eggs and ham.  They are making these choices.

Read story and discuss the choices made by the two characters.

Summary:             Discuss some of the times that children choose how to act.

Discuss choices the children make in their own lives.  Summarize activity and provide rationale.
